6 Favorite Books

Just so you know - this might be an impossible list. I am a reader...I do nothing but read. Lots and lots and lots. So to pick 6 favorite books is a challenge. I think I will just pick at random, 6 books that I love and would read over and over again. There are definitely books I am leaving out but these are the ones that I can think of at this point in time: 1. Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell: It's a very, very, very long book but I read it over a weekend when I was in Jr. High school, and I've re-read it over several times since then. It's the South! Drama! Action! Romance! Social Change! And yes, the movie is also great but you miss out on so much... 2. The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling: You really can not split these up, as the series as a whole makes the story. I started reading these early on when a friend who worked at a bookstore recommended I read the first one. Then I had to be impatient and keep waiting for the next to be released. Finishing the las

Seven Inspirations

I could offer a lengthy apology for not keeping up but guess what - my blog, my rules! Keeping up with my blogging group even if it is only once a week is tough thanks to every day life, but I want to keep this up. So, here are the 7 people who give me the most inspiration. 1. My son: All lists of things that bring me joy will begin with him. Even when he drives me nutty, he fills me with awe. He challenges me as a person because I always have to keep in mind that he is learning and growing every day, and I am helping shape him into the man he will one day become. And his outlook on life, his happiness at such little things inspire me to keep finding new ways to challenge him back. 2. My mom: A single parent, she worked very hard to raise my sister and I, and clearly she did a great job cause I am awesome! My mother is a rock, and some one who always knows what to do no matter what happens. She is the crisis queen. I wish I was half as capable as she is at life. 3. Elizabeth

Oh the places I'll go...

At least the top 8 places... Some of which I've been to before but want to go again and again. In no particular order, of course. #1: Key West - Starting off close to home. Love, love, love Key West. Love drinking margaritas in Key West. Love eating Key Lime Pie in Key West. My dream wedding would be on a beach on Key West. #2: Boston - Easily attainable, I just have to bug Geoff when I am up there to take me again. #3: Ireland - I want to see the green and the castles and the history. Dream trip. #4: New Hampshire - But only to see Geoff. Not my favorite state in the world. #5: NYC - I went once, before my 21st birthday and had a blast. I would love to go again and see a show on Broadway. #6: Cozumel - Yes it's a party, but I've been 4 times and each time I see something different that makes it all the more fun. #7: Italy - The wine, the food, the passion! #8: Vegas - I am not sure why though. Just seems like one of those places one should go at least once in

To Challenge or not?

I really, really love writing this blog but I can't seem to force myself to just write with no topic in mind. Too many thoughts and no focus to just pick one. I may just interject a personal blog as needed on occasion with shorter challenges - or just steal a topic from one of them and write about that! And on that note...found this one that I think might be short and sweet. I found another one that would have covered all of February but too late to start that one now, so I may save it for a rainy day next year :) Random 10 Day Challenge Day 1: Ten Things You Wanted/Want To Be When You’re Older Day 2: Nine Things You Can’t Live Without Day 3: Eight Places You Want To Visit Day 4: Seven People Who Inspire You, and Why? Day 5: Six of Your Favorite Books Day 6: Five Things You Can Eat Everyday Day 7: Four Songs That Describe Your Life Right Now Day 8: Three favorite Cartoon Characters Day 9: Two Movies You Absolutely Love Day 10: One Quote That Describes Your Life Right Now So without

Day 30 - Me today, and my 3 favorite blogs from this project.

So here I am today...and it's been an incredible month long journey into the mind and life of Krista. (And yes, it's a cell phone picture from my bathroom - but that was the quickest way to get me today.) My favorite blog of this challenge, though it breaks my heart, is the letter. There's so much I left out because how could I possibly capture all of the amazing stories about my grandfather? He was always more of a father to me than my own dad, and every day I am reminded again of how much I've already lost. I can't bear the thought of him being gone, although I know in reality, he's already left us. Number 2 on the list is the one about the person with the biggest impact on me. My son is my world, and writing about him comes easily. Again, there is so much I've left out because there isn't a way possible for me to write exactly how much he means to me - words for that have never been invented. Number 3 is a tie...My Future Husband and My Best Friends.
