4 Songs that describe my life

I write a lot about music, but I guess it's a good thing. These challenges like to make you use music in them, and my other blogging group just did a music topic last week. I have quite varied tastes, so expect to see very different stuff posted every time, depending on my mood!

#1 Jason Mraz - Plane:
You see, in case you aren't aware, I am in love with a man who lives almost 1500 miles away from me. So the lyrics in this song make me sad because I feel them. I feel every second of this song. The good and the bad. I won't post the whole song, just a section of the lyrics:
Damn, I should be so lucky
Even only 24 hours under your touch
You know I need you so much
I cannot wait to call you
And tell you that I landed somewhere
And hand you a square of the airport
And walk you through the maze of the map
That I'm gazing at
Gracefully unnamed and feeling guilty for the luck
And the look that you gave me
You make me somebody
Oh nobody knows me
Not even me can see it, yet I bet I'm

I'm leaving your town again
And I'm over the ground that you've been spinning
And I'm up in the air, so baby hell yeah
Oh honey I can see your house from here
If the plane goes down, damn
I'll remember where the love was found
If the plane goes down, damn

#2 32 Flavors by Alana Davis:
And yes, I know Ani DiFranco did it first but this was the version I heard first. My first real job was working at an ice cream store, and it was kind of a joke, but I still adore this song and feel like it fits me...

Squint your eyes and look closer
I'm not between you and your ambition
I am a poster girl with no poster, I am 32 flavors and then some
And I'm beyond your peripheral vision so you might want to turn your head
'Cause someday you're going to get hungry and eat all of the words that you just said

#3 Independent Women by Destiny's Child:
Hells yeah to the single women who rock their own worlds without any help from any man! Yes, I am in love, but I have what I have and it is my own. I worked for these things, I built my life back up from nothing when I stupidly allowed another man to have control over my life. Never again. The best part about this is, this independence is exactly what he loves about me!
The shoes on my feet
I bought it
The clothes I'm wearing
I bought it
The rock I'm rockin'
I bought it
'Cause I depend on me
If I wanted the watch you're wearin'
I'll buy it
The house I live in
I've bought it
The car I'm driving
I've bought it
I depend on me
(I depend on me)

#4 We're Only Love by Counting Crows: I sometimes forget about this song but it popped up on my Ipod the other day and I realized, even though it sounds a little sad, it fits with our long distance lifestyle...I will live on, I have to every day...One day we will close that distance but until then...

Who built the ball that is this earth?
Gave me life, and water for my thirst.
Home for a heart till death from birth
And we're only love, at it's best or worst.

Love calling your name
I will live on
Calling your name

Who wrote the pages of our lives?
In black and white, and taught me wrong from right
It's your heart that held you tight
But we're only love
Spin me around and round and round

Love calling your name
I will live on
Calling your name
