30 days of Krista

A few of my friends are doing this blogging project and I feel inspired to start the new year by attempting to get back to writing for fun instead of just writing legal pleadings all the time. If I can keep it up, then I have another outlet for my sadly waning creativity. Plus, being in a long distance relationship leaves lots of nights where I have nothing to do but miss him, and well, this may help distract me on occasion.

So for the first topic I am supposed to post a photo of myself and 15 interesting facts about me...Photo of self posted, now onto the so-called interesting facts about yours truly.

1. I hate snow and really cold weather. Ironically, I've just spent a week in New Hampshire with nothing but snow and cold weather...and for the record, the heat is not on if you have it set for 60 degrees...

2. I believe in God, but I don't believe in forcing myself to go to church. I feel like I've seen too many people play the good Christian on Sunday while ignoring all the teachings the rest of the week. While I am certainly no saint, I have a moral code and try to live a good life.

3. I do have a published poem out there in the world. It's a terribly sappy, cheesy love poem of course, but it got published.

4. I love some corn on the cob but I won't eat corn off of it. It tastes different. I'm sure you disagree, but to me, it's different!

5. I read all the time. I have stacks of books all over my house so I can grab one at any given point in time if I feel like reading something.

6. I heart Joss Whedon. He is a genius and I love everything the man has created.

7. My favorite theme park is Sea World and as much as they terrify me, I must go to the shark exhibit everytime I am there.

8. I once seriously planned to have a wedding where I was going to run off to Vegas, get married by an Elvis impersonator while wearing a white tanktop, jeans and birkenstocks while my then fiancee wore one of those tuxedo shirts...I (along with my mother) am so happy I never went through with this plan.

9. Ironically, on the day I was supposed to get married in the above referenced scenario, I decided to get my tongue pierced instead so I would remember the day as something other than the "day I was supposed to get married". The piercing is gone now but it was fun for several years...

10. I dislike playing games where I know I won't win. I'm a terrible loser. There, I admit it.

11. When I was a younger adult and making big changes in my life, I would cut my hair short, sort of symbolically. Now I find I don't need to do it anymore. I just make the changes and move on. I don't feel like I need to define them any longer.

12. I have always pictured my life as being surrounded in a family full of boys. Funny, since I am the oldest of an overwhelming majority of girls...but I'm getting what I've always imagined!

13. I hate calling people. If I do call you, feel privileged. There are very few people I feel comfortable enough to just call. I always feel like I am disturbing people if I call them first.

14. I love the beach. Whenever I need to feel peace, I go there. Just being near the waves soothes me and I can cry, laugh, think, pray, feel whatever I need to do and when I leave, I feel refreshed.

15. I won't go to law school because some one I despise once told me they thought I should go. I know it's a stupid reason, but I have plenty other valid reasons if you ever want to hear them too!

So there you have it. I don't claim that these were super fascinating but maybe you've learned a thing or two about me that you didn't already know.
